This work presents a RISC-V system-on-chip (SoC) with 8 application cores containing programmable-precision vector accelerators in a 16nm FinFET process. This vector accelerator achieves peak energy efficiency per task of 209 half-precision, 92 single-precision, and 56 double-precision GFLOPs/W for a matrix multiplication kernel at 0.55V and 339MHz. This SoC totals 125M gates and is designed with a generator-based design flow using Chisel, BAG, and Hammer as component generators.
